Post-Thanksgiving Grievances

With Thanksgiving over, it's time to return to classes and my internship once again.

Unfortunately for my weight loss journey, I wasn't able to control my portions as I wanted to on Thanksgiving...or the day after that. Fortunately, I already came to dinner with the mindset that whatever happens happens, and that I'd probably gain one or two pounds. But because of my carelessness not only thanksgiving but the day following, I went from 179. 8 lbs to 182.6 lbs.

I felt a little discouraged at first, but then I remembered that I was expecting this, and that I still am down from where I started, which was 199.8 lbs. That being said, today, Monday, November 27th, I have returned to my healthy eating habits. I started my day off with some egg whites and two slices of whole wheat bread with some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spread on them for a total of 6 SP's. For my lunch I didn't have anything prepared as I've been too busy to go to the store to buy things for lunch, so I just bought a grilled chicken sandwich from the Sonic right across the street from my internship. That was 12 SP's.

For Thanksgiving, I was hoping that although it was only the four of us, we'd all express what we were grateful for this year. We didn't, which is fine - but I wanted to express all the things I was grateful for, so I'll list them here.

Things I'm Grateful For 2017
  • My education
  • My apartment in Hilltop
  • My best friend Sienna
  • My membership with Weight Watchers
  • My privileges
  • My health
  • My internship/future job
  • My little sister
  • Lastly - and most importantly - my parents.
My parents have helped me get through college by providing me everything I could need. I've always wanted to show them my potential and make them proud, and I think with my journey to loving myself and having a healthier balance in life, I've finally done that. I can't express my gratitude for them, and for the life they've provided me.
